What is a lap of Jeddah Corniche Circuit like?
At 6.174 km with 27 corners (16 left, 11 right), the most on the calendar, it is F1's fastest street circuit, with average lap speeds around 250 km/h, second only to Monza. Only about seven of the 27 corners need braking; most of the rest are flat-out or near-flat sweeps between close walls. Turn 13 is a hairpin banked at 12 degrees, while Turn 1, at the end of the main straight, and the final corner are the best overtaking spots. For 2023, after consultation with F1, the FIA and drivers, fences at Turns 8, 10, 14 and 20 were moved to improve sightlines and the Turn 22-23 sequence was tightened, slowing cars there by about 50 km/h.
