What is a lap of Madring like?

A hybrid of public roads around the IFEMA exhibition centre and purpose-built permanent sections in Valdebebas, north-east Madrid, in the style of Miami rather than a pure street circuit. Its signature corner is La Monumental (Turn 12), a right-hander about 550 m long with banking of up to 24%; cars spend around six seconds in it, watched by about 45,000 spectators. After the fast Hortaleza right-hander (Turn 3) and the longest straight (837 m), the track climbs the Subida de las Cárcavas from Turn 6 to Turn 7, the highest point of the lap at about 697 m, then drops through El Búnker (Turn 8) to the chicane at Turns 10-11 that leads into La Monumental. The first Spanish Grand Prix at the Madring was run on 13 September 2026, the circuit's Formula 1 debut.
