What is a lap of Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello like?
Mugello has been owned by Ferrari since 1988 and hosted its only Formula 1 World Championship race in 2020, the Tuscan Grand Prix, held as Ferrari's 1000th Grand Prix; Lewis Hamilton won a race stopped twice by red flags. The 1,141 m main straight ends at San Donato (Turn 1), the slowest corner on the lap, yet even that is taken in about fourth gear because the circuit has no low-speed corners. From the highest point of the track the cars drop downhill through Casanova (Turn 6, right) and Savelli (Turn 7, left), then climb through the two Arrabbiata right-handers (Turns 8 and 9), which are taken at or near full throttle. The lap ends with the quick Biondetti left-right and the long Bucine left-hander onto the main straight, which held the single DRS zone used in 2020.
