What is a lap of Sochi Autodrom like?

A Hermann Tilke design laid out around the venues of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games; it hosted the Russian Grand Prix every year from 2014 to 2021 and was renamed Sirius Autodrom in 2024. Its signature corner is Turn 3, a high-speed, constant-radius left-hander of about 750 m that skirts the flag-lined Olympic Medal Plaza. Turn 2, a tight, slow right-hander at the end of a long flat-out run from the grid, is the best overtaking spot; its large run-off drew repeated criticism, and drivers who ran wide had to go round bollards, with speed bumps also added to deter cutting. The lap has 12 right-handers and six left-handers, is almost flat, and ends with a sequence of 90-degree corners in the final sector.
