What is a lap of Zeltweg like?

The circuit was a temporary, L-shaped course marked out on the runway and taxiways of Zeltweg military air base in Styria; before 1964 it had held non-championship Formula One races in 1961 and 1963. The concrete surface was so bumpy that several cars broke their suspension in 1964, including the leading cars of John Surtees and Dan Gurney, and Lorenzo Bandini came through from seventh on the grid to take his only F1 win. Drivers complained about the bumpy surface, and the World Championship did not return to Austria until 1970, at the purpose-built Österreichring nearby. The airfield is still the main base of the Austrian Air Force and hosts the AirPower air show.
