What is a lap of Marina Bay Street Circuit like?

Formula 1's first night race, held since 2008 on a street circuit designed by KBR from an original plan by Hermann Tilke, passing landmarks such as the Fullerton Hotel, the Anderson Bridge and the Singapore Flyer. One of the most physically demanding laps of the year: a bumpy street surface in heat and humidity, where drivers can lose as much as 3 kg over a race; it is a high-downforce venue with an average speed among the lowest of the season. For 2023 the section between the old Turns 16 and 19 was replaced by a 397.9 m straight, cutting the corner count from 23 to 19; the 2023 pole time was 5.3 seconds faster than the last dry qualifying in 2019. Three corners were named in a 2009 competition among local fans: Sheares (Turn 1), Memorial (Turn 7) and Singapore Sling (Turn 10), the last a chicane that was turned into a single left-hander in 2013.
