What is a lap of Miami International Autodrome like?

A temporary circuit laid out on the car parks and private roads of the Hard Rock Stadium complex in Miami Gardens, with 19 corners (12 left, 7 right), chosen after 36 different layouts were simulated. A fast, sweeping first sector ending in the triple-apex left-hander at Turns 6-8 contrasts with the tight, winding sequence from Turn 11 to Turn 16; the longest of the three straights (1.28 km) ends at the tight Turn 17 left-hander, the hardest braking zone of the lap. The site is predominantly flat; the main elevation change comes between Turns 13 and 16, where the track goes over a highway exit ramp and under flyovers across uneven ground, and the Turn 14-15 chicane has an uphill approach with a crest in the middle. Through 2025 three DRS zones led into Turns 11, 17 and 1, the main overtaking spots; for 2026 DRS was replaced by active-aero Straight Mode on the same three straights.
