What is a lap of Mosport International Raceway like?
A permanent road course on hilly ground near Bowmanville, Ontario, about 75 km east of Toronto, opened in 1961; its 10 turns include fast, blind corners and several dramatic elevation changes, and the layout has stayed essentially the same since it opened. Moss Corner (turns 5A and 5B) is named after Stirling Moss, who suggested splitting the planned single hairpin into two right-handers leading onto the long back straight, the Mario Andretti Straightaway. It held the Canadian Grand Prix eight times between 1967 and 1977 (alternating with Mont-Tremblant in 1968 and 1970); after Ian Ashley's car flew over the barriers from a bump on the back straight in 1977, and with concerns over the bumpy, cracked surface, drainage and safety, the race moved to Montreal from 1978. The track is still in use, renamed Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in 2012, and hosts IMSA sports car and NASCAR Canada races.

| Winner started from | Wins | Share |
|---|---|---|
| P1 | 4 | 50% |

| P5 | 1 | 13% |
| P7 | 1 | 13% |
| P9 | 1 | 13% |
Where the winner started, every race at this circuit. Pole sitter means the driver who set the fastest qualifying time (first on the grid where no qualifying data exists); a grid penalty can move the pole sitter back, and that race still counts for them. Compare every circuit.
