What is a lap of Adelaide Street Circuit like?

A temporary street circuit through Adelaide's East Parklands, with the pits on a purpose-built road inside the Victoria Park racecourse, it hosted the Australian Grand Prix as the last race of the season from 1985 to 1995. It was wide and fast for a street track: in 1986 Martin Brundle's turbocharged Tyrrell was timed at 205 mph (330 km/h) on the 900 m Brabham Straight along Dequetteville Terrace. It saw Nigel Mansell's title-losing tyre failure in 1986, the rain-stopped 1991 race that lasted only 14 laps, and the 1994 collision between Michael Schumacher and Damon Hill that decided the championship. Formula 1 left after 1995 when the race moved to Melbourne's Albert Park; a shortened 3.219 km version of the track was used for the Supercars Adelaide 500 from 1999 to 2020 and again from 2022, and a modified layout is planned for MotoGP from 2027.
