What is a lap of Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit like?

A temporary circuit on public roads around Albert Park Lake; the track is often bumpy and slippery at the start of the weekend, rubbering in as the sessions progress. The rework carried out in 2021 and first raced in 2022 removed the Turn 9-10 chicane, creating a flat-out run of about 1.3 km beside the lake into the fast Turn 9-10 left-right (formerly Turns 11-12); the lap went from 16 to 14 turns and became about five seconds faster. Turn 3, a tight right-hander at the end of a heavy braking zone, is one of the main overtaking spots; the revised layout was the first in F1 given four DRS zones, and although one was dropped for safety during the 2022 weekend, four were in use by 2025. Corners carry the names of champions: Jones (Turn 1), Brabham (Turn 2) and the final sequence named after Ascari, Stewart, Senna and Prost.
