What is a lap of Red Bull Ring like?
A short lap in the Styrian hills: the first half is three straights separated by a pair of uphill right-handers (Turns 1 and 3), and the second half is a downhill run of quick corners that includes the Rindt right-hander (Turn 9), named after Austria's first world champion, Jochen Rindt. Remus, the tight, cambered uphill right-hander at Turn 3, is where much of the overtaking happens, coming after a long flat-out section. Turn 1 lost its Niki Lauda name when the rebuilt circuit reopened as the Red Bull Ring, which Lauda publicly criticised in 2014; it was renamed the Niki Lauda Kurve in his memory in 2019. Red Bull co-founder Dietrich Mateschitz bought the A1-Ring in 2004 and rebuilt it as the Red Bull Ring, which reopened in 2011; the Austrian Grand Prix returned in 2014. The track sits about 660 m above sea level with a 65 m height difference around the lap.

Where the winner started, every race at this circuit. Pole sitter means the driver who set the fastest qualifying time (first on the grid where no qualifying data exists); a grid penalty can move the pole sitter back, and that race still counts for them. Compare every circuit.
